From Quebec City Alain Bedard born in 1958

Fascinated by drawing his entire life, he began stuying art at the college Ste-Foy in 1976. Powered by the need to perfect his art, he continued his education at Laval University in graphic design where he was lucky to have a great modern painter as his professor of illustration, Claude A. Simard with whom he is very fortunate to have as a friend and mentor.

Upon completion of his studies he worked for several advertising agencies as an illustrator, designer and graphic designer. In 1985, he decided to create his own office as a graphic designer, while continuing with his parallel career as an artist. Through all these years, he has continued his creative process, producing over 70 works a year.

Figurative art has always been his way of life and communication. He likes to ask all his senses for imaging what he sees, what he lives and the encounters made during his travels. When visiting cities, he loves to watch the people who live there and their back and forth daily energy and animation that emerges; the colors intermingle and the beauty of the architecture appears.

Alain likes to paint urban scenes with people walking and moving about the streets and parks. The light of winter snow, the architecture of buildings, and the tranquility of the people inspire him and are the basis of his creations.
